north carolina - Church

When we arivved in NC Doug Bookman & his sweet wife were there to pick us up and take us to the BEST restaurant, Lucky 32. If any of you come & visit we can go there and for dessert we are getting Peanut Butter Chess Pie! ITS SO YUMMY! They are a GREAT couple & we REALLY enjoyed our time with them.

The next day we went to church at Colonial Baptist Church. Its a church of about 4,000 members. The Pastor is GREAT - loves the Lord and the people! He teaches the new members' class too! I thought that was impressive with a church of 4,000. He has a heart for adoption too. He is the process of trying to start a fund for people who want to adopt in the Church! It was fun to be able to share the goodness of God through the adoption of John.

We visited the Youth Ministry & that was quite the experience! :) But we were able to talk to some very nice people. Then we went to the main service... that was GREAT! Very refreshing. He is going through Revelation. It was a great time with fellow believers.

We then went to lunch with Justin & his fiance, and another couple from the Seminary, Tripp & Chelsea, and their CUTE little girl! So fun! Guess where we went... Luckey 32 AGAIN! There was a miss communication so we went 2 times but it was GREAT! :) They had been in a similar situation to us and it was VERY helpful to talk with them! Chelsea was so open and very helpful in talking about being a seminary wife. If we go there I hope to be able to spend some time with her and the family.

Then Sunday night we sat in Doug's class. He was teaching on Passion week. He is so knowledgeable & love the Lord & His people! We sat by the nicest older lady! She was so refreshing. We then went to Red Robin with Doug & his wife. Doug is VERY smart... I get lost when he talks about the Bible... but Ian was soaking it all up! :) I talked with Mrs. Bookman :) She's GREAT!

It is exciting that you and Ian may have found your new home for a time. I'll be praying for your guys as you make this big decision of whether to commit to Shepherd's. Personally, I think it would be great if you guys were out in North Carolina too! I know that Diana and I would love to spend some time with you!

Praise God! So encouraging to hear about all the people you were able to interact and fellowship with. If you do end up in NC, you will have quite the family of support right from the start, awesome!

And if you move to that area, I'm so driving up to visit sometime! :)

Praying for you!
