christmas blessing

Tuesday of last week, I was getting a bunch of stuff for my parents 25th wedding anniversary, for c&k catering, for the one28 Christmas party, Priceless Christmas party, and a bunch of other things. I have been having trouble with my debit card and had gone to the bank earlier that day to have them send me a new card. As I was standing in line at Walmart I was talking to the check out lady about all the different things going on this week and all the different events I was buying the stuff for (clearly I was buying for parties.... 64 ice cream bars, 6 tables clothes, etc...) As I was trying to pay, my debit card wasn't working. I ran it 3 times, and still NOTHING! I had a $100 bill in my wallet but I owed $128. I was so embarrassed! I was just going to ask the lady to start taking things off but before I could that the middle aged gentleman standing behind me, who was buying toys for his children, said to the check out lady. "Just add my stuff to hers and I will pay for it" I instantly started crying! I was so overwhelmed with his kindness, all I knew to do was cry! :) I tried offering him my $100 but he wouldn't take it. He said that I had a BIG week ahead of me and that he wanted to pay for it. I then thanked him like 100 times and continued to cry as I went out to my car. I just couldn't believe that a complete stranger would pay for all my stuff! Praise God for that man. He doesn't know how many people he blessed! It really makes me want to find little ways to bless strangers!

So there is the story... and here is my mom's journal entry about it. It so good, I have to share it.. it makes me tear up ever time I read it...

"Today, a total stranger, saw a need and then met it. Why does this take us by such surprise? In this day and age, in this state of economic disaster... a kind, undeserved act that brought my sweet daughter to tears. Now, that made my day, that taught my daughter so much and was such an example of Christlikeness.

Thank you to that stranger for that! May God bless you for this act of kindness.

Our hearts are dearly blessed. God is so good to meet out needs and how he uses us to do that if we would only let him and cease the moment to bless others."

That is an awesome story. It is definitly inspiring! I am sorry that we are in the same place and I haven't seen you yet. I caught a nasty cold from the flight so I have been really sick but I promise when I get better that we can spend lots of time together!
